CALL FOR POSTER PRESENTATIONS : ANOTHER OPPORTUNITY FOR MALAYSIAN LIBRARIANS TO PARTICIPATE IN IFLA WLIC 2018 KUALA LUMPUR

by Rashidah Begum Fazal Mohamed

For those of us who were present in WLIC in Wroclaw who can forget the pride we felt when the poster presentation The Buggy Ride @ Perpustakaan Raja Tun Uda Library. Shah Alam Selangor, Malaysia won the Best IFLA Poster 2017 award?

A very unique feature of their poster presentation was that they had a  30 cm replica of the buggy as part of the display.  The poster was one of the more than 180 poster presentations from all over the globe that were displayed at the conference venue.

Now there is another chance for Malaysian librarians attending IFLA WLIC 2018 to present information in a summary form and that allows them to interact and engage with IFLA participants who visit these presentations.

Do you have interesting and inspiring innovations, research findings, or projects that are ongoing or near completion that are relevant to the the library and information profession and that you can represent in a printed poster (minimum size 841mm wide x 1189mm high and maximum size 900mm wide and 1900mm high) in a visually engaging way using photographs, graphics and text?

If the answer is yes, please submit an  abstract  of your proposal for approval by IFLA’s Professional Committee using the online application form . The deadline for proposals is 01 February 2018.

The poster must have a relationship to the theme of IFLA WLIC 2018 “Transform Libraries, Transform Societies.”

Please note that if your poster presentation is selected you will  have to be at your assigned poster board on Monday 27 August 2018 and Tuesday 28 August 2018 in order to explain your poster, answer questions, have a discussion, and also to hand out any leaflets, or other information materials you have available for viewers of your poster.
