Pustaka-Bookaroo Children’s Literature Festival Year 3

The children of Kuching are in for a treat. 17 children’s writers, illustrators, poets and storytellers from 6 countries will be coming to Kuching to conduct 54 sessions to celebrate the joy of books and reading in the third edition of Pustaka-Bookaroo Children’s Literature Festival on 22nd and 23rd April 2017.

Pustaka Negeri Sarawak is proud to announce the third edition of Pustaka-Bookaroo Children’s Literature Festival to be held on 22nd and 23rd April 2017, 11 am to 4.30 pm, at the Sarawak State Library in association with Bookaroo Trust, New Delhi, India.

The festival aims to celebrate the joy of reading among children. Its mission is to bring children and books together in a borderless world. Pustaka-Bookaroo Children’s Literature Festival 2017 offers children and booklovers a chance to meet and interact with distinguished local and foreign children’s authors, illustrators, poets and storytellers – all in one place.

It will be two days of non-stop fun and total excitement in and around books with something for everyone aged between 4 and 12. There will be time to meet authors, illustrators, storytellers and poets for amazing art, terrific tales, cool crafts and puppets, poems and puzzles.

Activities include storytelling, the wonderful world of puppetry, and the magic of spices, mask-making, doodling,  paper patchwork, monster hunting and tactile art walk.

There will be a special display of the books by the speakers at the Festival Bookstore, for purchase and signing, and a variety of stalls selling food and drinks.
